Formed by Kenya-born musician Ajay Saggar in 2013, King Champion Sounds are an impetuous, eight-headed band from The Netherlands and England. Fronted by the inimitable G.W. Sok (former singer of the iconic Dutch group The Ex) and his politically charged lyrics, King Champion Sounds’ music is a highly energetic and irresistible brew taking in elements from psychedelic post-punk, krautrock, dub, free jazz, folk and electronica.

Now, we have the honor to premiere King Champion Sounds’ video for their new track ‘Om Bhur Bhuvah Svah‘. Inspired by a heartfelt discussion about the importance of music in the band members’ lives one late evening in October 2017, this song is a spellbinding, instrumental track channeling Hindu spirits and taking you on an astral journey. The chemistry between band members seems stronger then ever and King Champion Sounds have truly mastered the art of bending genres, sounds and influences to channel a music that is wholly their own.

“I threw in a rolling bass line into the middle, and from there we took off, listening hard to each others playing and building something beautiful. The title of the track is taken from the Gayatari Mantra (a universal prayer enshrined in the Vedas), which I, as a Hindu, would recite as a kid to myself before going to sleep each night, and would somehow give me an inner peace. The words mean: Om: the primeval sound; Bhur: the physical body/physical realm; Bhuvah: the life force/the mental realm; Suvah: the soul/spiritual realm. This is music as a healing force. I love this track, and hope people listening to it will dig it too.” – Ajay Saggar
